Vocera Communications Wins Two Technology Industry Awards

Cupertino, Calif. (May 12, 2004) – Vocera Communications announced today it has been honored with two technology industry awards. First, Vocera has been selected as one of the 2004 Red Herring Top 100 firms. Each year, Red Herring identifies the top 100 private companies impacting the marketplace. Vocera also received a 2004 Network Computing Well-Connected Award for Convergence Design and Innovation and was a finalist in the Mobile & Wireless Technology category. Each year the technology editors of Network Computing honor the year’s outstanding technology products and services.

“At the Red Herring, we scour the industry to identify the best and brightest technology companies that are transforming the current markets and creating new ones,” said Alex Vieux, Red Herring publisher. “Red Herring 100 is our annual list of the most promising private companies. Like Google, eBay, Salesforce.com and other previous Red Herring 100 alumni, these 100 have the potential to become the next titans of industry.”

Each year Network Computing selects the top products that have been tested and evaluated in their real-world test labs. The awards are only for products that have undergone the publication’s in-depth analysis.

“The Well-Connected Awards are the only industry awards given by technologists based on real-world product testing and evaluation. We view all products, technologies, and services from the same perspective as our readers – our peers – do, “said Fritz Nelson, vice president and group publisher of Network Computing Enterprise Architecture Group. “This is an important distinction from any other award program – the products selected in the Well-Connected Awards are unique because they have been tested over an enterprise by our editors themselves. They are truly innovative solutions that work.”

The Vocera System optimizes the convergence of three key technologies – WLAN, VoIP, and speech recognition to create one innovative product. The Vocera design, engineering, and manufacturing teams embraced the founders’ vision and created the award-winning system that is changing the way people communicate.
