2013 SAN DIEGO BUSINESS JOURNAL INNOVATION AWARDS ANNOUNCE WINNERS

SAN DIEGO, June 18, 2013 – The San Diego Business Journal held its 2013 Innovation Awards at the extraordinary Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla on Tuesday, June 18, to recognize the breakthrough technologies and unique new products developed by San Diego companies in a broad spectrum of industries from medical research to aviation safety and social media to mobile senior care.

The program was created with the vision to honor and acknowledge the individuals and organizations that continue to stretch boundaries and who demonstrate how the innovative spirit drives economic value.

An expert panel of judges including Karen Brassfield, Gerald Ellison, and Reo Carr reviewed 101 finalists who were highlighted in the pages of the San Diego Business Journal. Winners were chosen in a broad range of categories for their unique contributions in the fields of biotech, green energy, finance, marketing, medical devices and research, consumer and mobile products, software and technology.
