With the rapid proliferation of cloud computing throughout the global marketplace, it would stand to reason that a company developing solutions to make it easy to deploy and run apps in the cloud would be in high demand. Standing Cloud, a company doing just that, was able to prove its worth in the marketplace by closing a $3 million financing deal led by Rich Levandov at Avalon Ventures.

According to a recent Technology Review piece, Levandov got excited about Standing Cloud and their mission to “reimagine hosting” within cloud computing. Users today want control over their apps, including access to upgrades, backups and the ability to move applications across cloud providers while enjoying extremely high reliability.

The demand for Standing Cloud appears to be substantial given the fact that deploying apps on most cloud providers continues to be extremely complicated.

Standing Cloud supports more than 70 open-source apps offered by a large number of solutions providers and provides a simple way to deploy multiple instance of asingle app across all clients, retain a high degree of flexibility and control over the apps and never have to worry about hosting. These are the same companies helping businesses launch and maintain websites and software they rely on to manage their business.

In addition to its recent funding success, Standing Cloud has also launched the Standing Cloud Partner Program which provides free hosting for one stance of a single application for one year. The program also provides volume pricing and a listing of services in the Standing Cloud Application Network, which is being positioned as the go-to-place for end users and solution providers around Web apps.

The Partner Program is also designed to help grow business for service providers who customize, support and deploy online applications, which can range from CMS systems like Drupal, WordPress and Plone, CRM systems such as vTiger andSugarCRM (News – Alert) and other business tools like Stratus.NET and OpenVBX.

As Standing Cloud focuses on building out its platforms and extending capabilities to more providers, end users are likely to benefit the most from easy access to the apps they need that come to market faster and stay as current as their changing business demands.
