Standing Cloud, a U.S.-based online application management company, and Tagadab, a U.K.-based Internet hosting company, have announced a partnership to give users in the U.K. a vastly simplified way of deploying cloud-hosted applications.
Standing Cloud, which makes it easy to deploy and operate applications in the cloud, will feature Tagadab’s on-demand cloud hosting solution. Tagadab joins Amazon, Rackspace, GoGrid and SoftLayer as one of Standing Cloud’s supported infrastructure providers, and is the first supported data center located in the E.U.
Despite the promise of the cloud, some users are frustrated by barriers to entry such as installing and configuring applications and servers and managing complex pricing structures.
“Moving to a cloud solution – with all the advantages that brings – can nevertheless be quite daunting for customers who are not used to installing and configuring complex applications. Standing Cloud’s solution removes this problem,” said Tagadab managing director Steve Rawlinson.
With this partnership, users in the U.K. and E.U. will be able to choose from among Standing Cloud’s nearly 80 business and technical applications, including popular CMS, CRM and communications applications like WordPress, SugarCRM and OpenVBX. They now have the option to choose a cloud such as Tagadab, and Standing Cloud will provide 24/7 monitoring and backups; the ability to immediately resize the server; auto-restore in case of downtime; and the opportunity to port over to another cloud provider if the primary cloud service becomes unavailable.
